General

Q: What is the CleverCell Phone Manager?

A: Phone Manager is a software designed to provide managing functionality and data exchange between your computer and mobile phone. Our CleverCell Phone Manager product is an easy-to-use program designed for an automatic logging and synchronization of your GSM phone data with PC. It also has handy multimedia center for pictures and melodies management. For more information, please read Product Info section.

Q: Which phones are actually supported?

A: Currently, we support all GSM phone models from Siemens, SonyEricsson and Alcatel. We tested the software on at least one phone from each model series listed here. Others should work as well.

Q: Can I first try CleverCell Phone Manager for free?

A: Sure, there's a 30-day trial version available. You can download and try Phone Manager instantly for free!

Q: I downloaded program, but it does not work! What should I do?

A: First, please make sure that your phone is in our supported models list and check system requirements.

If you still have problems with it, we advice you to search this FAQ to see if your issue has been already addressed. Or Contact us through our assistance form. We will get back to you asap. We ensure free support by email and assistance form only.

Connection

Q: How can I connect my mobile phone to PC?

A: There are three possible options: Infrared adapter, Bluetooth, or Serial Data cable. After you decide what to choose, do the following:

  1. Connect IrDA / Bluetooth / Data cable to your computer
    if data cable, connect it also to a phone
  2. Install drivers for the device by opening Start->Control Panel->New Hardware
  3. When device has been successfully installed
    • If infrared, enable infrared connection on your phone, and put the phone near infrared adapter
    • If bluetooth, enable bluetooth connection on your phone, and pair with PC by opening "Add a Bluetooth device"

Now CleverCell Phone Manager can use Serial link over these mediums to connect mobile and PC.

Q: I connected phone, but it seems not working!?

A: First, be sure you completed all the steps described above and the Serial (COM) link is established.
Second, check the environment, there could be other programs that use this port.
And finally, please check that your phone model is listed in supported models list.

Q: Can I use my USB data cable with Phone Manager?

A: This option is currently not supported. We are already working on this functionality. At this moment, only Serial data cables are supported.

A: If we receive the same request from several users, we'll add it in a future release. If you need a custom development for your project, we do provide consultancy. Contact us for more details.

Q: My mobile phone is not supported by CleverCell. What can I do?

A: We continue the product development, and your feedback is important for us to make improvements. Please contact us to submit your phone model and we will study the possibility of integration asap.

Q: How can I receive technical support?

A: There are a number of options for technical support ranging from free email to paid and dedicated support. For more information, see Support section.

Q: I sent SMS through your program, but it cost me the same as from my mobile phone! Why?

A: Though you typed SMS in a program, it was transmitted to the recipient via your phone and your net provider. Yes, you could probably send the same message from the operator's website for free, but the time is money, and sending it from Phone Manager combines the comfort of the website, wide acceptance of the phone, and plus it will be stored in your database!

Q: I often see several call records with the same date in my log. Why?

A: Not all phones store timestamps of the calls made. And even if they are stored on the phone, often dates are not available for access from PC due to manufacturer's limitations. In all such cases we decided to store the date and time of synchronization. If you synchronize regularly, it will be pretty sharp estimate.
